Lenten treasure chests
Today we launched our Lenten “count down” with a project that will help us count days and our good deeds before Pascha. The angel that many kids chose to put on the lid of their Lenten treasure chests is supposed to be the witness, helper, and accountant of their good work during Great Lent. There are 48 “coins” to match the number of days of Lent. I mentioned in the class that through our good work we are drawn closer to God and it’s our little steps towards embracing and living church teachings and climbing up to Heaven, because “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Mat. 6:21)
